Wagdi Iskander

Wagdi Iskander is the founder of Al Hayat (life) Training Centre. Born into a Bedouin Arab family, Wagdi was raised as a Muslim in the Sudan. In 1982 his life changed dramatically after accepting Jesus Christ as Lord. First he was persecuted and then arrested along with two Christian friends for refusing to renounce Jesus as Lord. All three were sentenced to die. His friends were executed but Wagdi made a miraculous last-minute escape and went into hiding until 1985 when he fled to England. In 1988 he came to Canada and has pastored Arabic churches in Calgary and Edmonton.
Having grown up in a Muslim culture Wagdi shares from a deep love for Muslims. He has a great desire to see them come to know Jesus personally. He will share how to understand the Muslim mind-set in order to have an effective witness with them. Wagdi has a passion to minister to youth and young adults in this generation and to challenge them to find their place in God’s harvest.
Wagdi will be sharing his personal testimony at the MFA After Hours II – Re:surgence on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. You will not want to miss his amazing story.
