You are invited to join us for a gathering of friends, leaders, and dreamers encountering a rising again…

“And Breath Came.” – Ezekiel 37:10

The story found in Ezekiel 37 of the valley of dry bones coming to life has been at the heart of our community since we began in 2008, making it the perfect focal point to build our first Resurgence Conference around! Each of us find ourselves in seasons like that of dry and bleached bones – lying in wait for for life to be spoken into us. Called by God, Ezekiel was set in the midst of that bone-strewn plain and was commanded to prophesy “breath”. Wherever your story has taken you, His breath will come. I was on the edge of despair – And Breath Came. I needed the words to speak to my broken family – And Breath Came. I stepped out in faith and quit my job not knowing what was next- And Breath Came. Join us at Resurgence Conference 2017 to experience and testify to the power of His Breath.

June 8-10, 2017

Terwillegar Community Church
1751 Towne Centre Blvd NW

Edmonton, AB

Breath brings the dead to life. Breath restores and renews. Breath brings hope and reveals dreams. Breath empowers and propels. Breath brings a rising again.

With one heart and cry as a community, let us encounter the breath of God –  Resurgence Conference 2017: And Breath Came.

With Friends…

Nathan Edwardson is the founder and lead pastor of the Stirring church, a young and growing church plant in Redding, California. A creative visionary, he integrates his love of music, story and film with his passion for shaping disciples who will shape the world. Along with his wife Erica, they dream of sons and daughters coming home, cities awakened to love, and the world drenched in God in the most creative and beautiful ways possible. They enjoy life with their four beautiful children.

Travis Holownia has a great passion for God and for people. His greatest desire is to see this generation experience what it means to live in the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. God has used Travis in a catalytic way. His speaking and teaching inspires youth, young adults, and all ages by calling the Spirit of God to stir and awaken hearts.

Travis is the visionary leader of Resurgence Initiatives, a movement started in 2008 seeking to inspire people to arise together. Resurgence gathers and releases people who expect the impossible, experience God’s love, empower those around them, and engage in expanding God’s Kingdom.

Previously, Travis served for 8 years in the leadership of Christian youth conferences worldwide, and prior to that worked in a management role in the oil industry. Travis calls Edmonton, Canada home, cheers for the Oilers, and holds degrees both in Engineering and Theology.

Caris is a home grown Edmontonian, who has a heart for Revival in Canada and beyond. She works part-time as a Hairstylist and is always in active full time ministry! She currently leads worship at City Centre Church, and leads a passionate lifestyle of love and faith for Jesus. She has served on the Resurgence Lead Team since its inception, and her passion for the call and vision has only grown. For the Past 17 years, she has been cultivating purpose filled expression. Through song, Caris leads others in worship to experience the beauty and magnificence of the Father, inspiring  & empowering others to live out their faith in real and tangible ways in their everyday life.

Dean has a heart to help those around him realize the identity God has given them and to encourage them to walk in the calling and plan for their lives. He strongly believes in Resurgence and the impact it is to have on Alberta and the nation through simple obedience. Dean has been a part of the Resurgence Lead Team for over two years. He is from Saskatchewan (Go Riders!) where he completed his degree in Chemical Engineering and was a part of a campus-based ministry for several years. Dean works in the marketplace believing he has been called there to have an impact for God on those he works with. He loves building community and getting active.

Ben & Kelly Smith love their Family. This is where ministry begins for them. Home is where the heart is! Their heart includes their beautiful children Brighton, Salem and baby boy on the way! They lead a community called Bread & Wine in the Greater Atlanta area and have a heart to take people into deep intimacy with their Heavenly Father. Ben has been traveling for the past 15 years with the group Unhindered, where they have ministered in numerous churches, conferences, etc. They have had the privilege to co-write with Matt Redman, Jason Upton and other powerful songwriters. Ben & Kelly have released three albums in the last two years. They are dear friends of Resurgence and we are honoured to have them with us.

Daunavan Buyer, husband of Kirsten & Soon-to-be dad, lives to see Jesus glorified and to bring as many people closer to Him as is possible! He has a heart for continual revival and seeing people awakened to the reality of what it means to worship in Spirit and in Truth. Daunavan likes to challenge those he is teaching and leading to living a Christ-Centered life in all aspects while seeking to model that life by the grace and empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

He is the Young Adults and Worship Pastor at McKernan Baptist Church and is actively involved in the Resurgence community and House of Prayer Edmonton. All of these ministries allow Daunavan to express the passion that God has placed on his heart to make disciples and see the Church in Edmonton contending for revival.

Jolene Biegel is a Christian Marriage and Family Therapist who works with individuals, adolescents, couples, and families. Aside from counseling, she loves to serve in her home church of Zion Apostolic Ministries International Edmonton in a variety of different areas. Jolene has an unquenchable and burning passion to see God’s children walk in the promised freedom afforded through Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. She finds no greater joy than living her life in full abandonment to Jesus, knowing she will never be satisfied with anything less than His will being completely fulfilled in her life.

Kevin and Erin served in pastoral ministry for 10 years. Last year they felt called by God to radically change their lives and live as missionaries in their community. Their heart is to help common people live out the mandate of Jesus to go and make disciples. They lead a missional community of people all at different stages of their walk with Jesus. The Machados have been married for 12 years and live in St. Albert with their three kids, Luciana, Archer and Mercy.

Jonathan Hayford born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada successfully completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta in 2013 with a major in International Business. He has worked in the financial services industry, commercial real estate and in private health care in Nairobi, Kenya. Presently, he is pursuing courses to become a Certified Financial Planner. His passion is to know Jesus personally through studying the Bible and prayer. From experience, he freely shares about Jesus Christ with other people. In his spare time, he is actively involved in ministries like House of Prayer Edmonton and helps lead Bible studies with youth at his local church assembly. He also enjoys playing basketball and travelling to new places.

Amy Croy is a member of the Resurgence Prayer team and  loves prayer in various forms.  In addition to being a mom, grandma and sister, Amy has served as a Youth/Young Adult Pastor and currently ministers as Alpha Coordinator for the Anglican Diocese of Edmonton as well as Youth Associate with Alpha Canada.  She is passionate about helping young leaders become who God designed them to be and reaching this generation for Jesus.

AND MORE…

“In the narrative of God, breath comes to bring life to the dead, dormant, impossible bones. It brings unity, life, and a fire. Though that is not the end. This fire empowers one to leave not only with breath but to call forth life-giving breath everyday!”

What is a conference? Maybe not what you think!

Conference: The act of conferring.

Confer: To grant, bestow or give. To converse, exchange ideas, consult together, deliberate and talk over- often in order to take action. From the Latin “con-” (together) and “ferre” (to carry, bear, bring).

The art of conferring is literally about unity! Bringing together, bearing life together, and igniting the callings we carry. Our aim is to restore these aspects of conference through focused times of discussion, unique opportunities for participation as well as the shared teaching, intimate corporate worship, and empowering ministry reflected at our monthly gatherings. A foundational design of Resurgence that sets it apart is our team approach – conferring with each other to get the fullest picture of who God is and what His heart is after. We hope you will join us as we translate that culture into a multi-day gathering – a true “conference”!
