WHAT is the EDMONTON BURN?

The EDMONTON BURN is 50 hours of continual, corporate worship of Jesus Christ. The vision and heart of the EDMONTON BURN is expressed by the apostle Paul when he prayed:

“May God give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” – Romans 15:5-6

The EDMONTON BURN is a Christian, cross-denominational event, made up of a diverse expression of believers from throughout the capital region and is being led by various local worship and prayer teams. It is being co-hosted by House of Prayer Edmonton (HoPE) and re:surgence

Various local worship teams will lead 2-hour sets throughout the event. The 50 hrs will consist of extended times of worship as well different expressions of prayer at various points. People are invited to come and go at any time and stay for as long as they wish.

WHEN is it happening?

The EDMONTON BURN begins Thursday, October 31 2013 at 7:00 pm and will continue for 50 straight hours until Saturday, November 2 2013 at 9:00 pm (approximately!).

WHERE will it be?

The location will be at Victory Church on the Rock @ 10445-172 Street NW in Edmonton.

WHY is it happening?

The primary reason is simply because Jesus is worthy of unceasing worship!

God is moving in this generation to establish a global worship and prayer movement. Literally in nations all around the world God is awakening different expressions of continual, day and night worship and prayer that seek to glorify God on earth as He is worshiped in heaven. Jesus told us to pray for the kingdom of God to be “on earth as it is in heaven” (Matt. 6:10), and in heaven there is an unceasing expression of worship and adoration of God (Rev. 5:8).

This is the first time a 50 hour BURN has been hosted in the capital region. We believe that it will have a significant impact on the spiritual atmosphere as we come together in unity to exalt and worship Jesus as both Lord and Christ!

The secondary reason for the BURN is to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of House of Prayer Edmonton AND the 5 year anniversary of Re:surgence! In God’s providence, both of these region-wide ministries have the same anniversary date: October 31! We are thrilled to be co-hosting this special event as our way of celebrating God’s amazing love and faithfulness over these many years.

WHO is invited?

As a powerful expression of unity within the Body of Christ, we are inviting believers from all across the capital region to this special, multi-denominational event.

We want to invite everybody to a special celebration during the final 2 hours of the BURN, from 7:00 – 9:00 pm, Saturday November 2!

Please note: We regret that because of limited resources, we are NOT able to provide childcare or childcare facilities.

WHAT does it cost?

There is no charge to participate in the BURN, however there will be a FREE-WILL OFFERING taken in the evenings in order to offset the costs of the event.
